An Open Letter To Lehlohonolo Majoro

Dear Lehlohonolo Majoro,

The Kaizer Chiefs Supporters are not angry with you, you must understand that some of us at Chiefs idolised you and even at times idolised you by using your jersey number.

It is a bitter pill to swallow that you went to our fiercest rivals (Orlando Pirates) and…

Kaizer Chiefs running away with it…

It looks to be a one horse race for the Soweto giants, after a successful 2012/2013 season as a result of a league triumph and a Nedbank cup. That however, does not seem to be enough for the Baxter-led Kaizer Chiefs.…

Bafana Bafana failure at CHAN 2014

For once I never wanted to comment on the failure of Bafana Bafana to advance yet again to the next stage of another tournament- CHAN 2014. However for starters let me say, Nigeria always have Bafana's number- even when Nigeria is playing poorly - they always get their act together when the face Bafana Bafana. Bafana Bafana beating Nigeria- that would have been the shock of the tournament. But this failure by our national team- yet…

Daylight Ribery!

The world has spoken. Cristiano Ronaldo was voted 2013’s World Player of the Year for the 2nd time at last night’s glittering shindig in Zurich.

There’s no doubting Ronaldo’s qualities as one of the world’s greatest players ever. His track record and accolades speak for themselves but I…

Lehlohonolo Majoro deserves a right of choice

Lehlohonolo Majoro since his contract is expiring in June, then he is automatically qualifying to sign a pre-season contract with any team or renew with Kaizer Chiefs. I believe the challenge that he had with his current employers is that Chiefs involved him in the deal…

City taking the bull by its horns

Real City cannot hide their delight after making their way to the National Second Division. After some impressive displays for the past two seasons in the Nelson Mandela Bay SAFA regional league – City have ‘taken the bull by its horns’.

The Motherwell soccer team has had a good spell over the years, maintaining a top four finish frequently. The time has since come for the young team to reap the fruits of their good development by gaining promotion to the National Second…

It’s part of the game!

Ok... now that the dust has settled a bit, here is my view. We are supporters of a very big club (Orlando Pirates), not only in South Africa but Africa as well. These kinds of things come with the package, we win big games and we lose big games.

Big teams in Europe go through this year…

Is Danny Jordaan going to save SAFA?

That’s today's everybody's question.

To start with, it should unreservedly accepted that Danny Jordaan's credentials and visionary spirit are outstanding. He has the kind of leadership personality which attracts recognition both locally and internationally and that could be…

CAF Rules And Regulations For Champions League

Let me cause a big debate and believe me, I am right as per CAF rules and regulations.

A team that wins the CAF Champions League automatically qualifies to defend its trophy the following season irrespective of whether they are Champions of their domestic league or…

We need change in SAFA office as soon as possible

The South African Football Association (SAFA) is to be blame for this, they hire a coach, give him mandate with no support system and sit back fold their arms knowing if the coach is failing people are going to make the noise they making now and all the focus and the blame will be on…

Love them or hate them – Bafana Bafana is our team!

The pain of being a soccer fan is that we are able to see beyond the gloom and doom: it is the passion and love for the game that makes us belief even when our teams are at the lowest.

Those who are the masters of this beautiful game often tell us that football is scientific, and success in it is…

DANNY JORDAAN, IS HE ‘‘N MOOI VAN VER’ OR CUT FROM THE SAME CLOTH AS TOKYO SEXWALE AND MORGAN TSVANGIRAI?

From Shakesperian plays to modern day soapies our world is plagued by heroes and villains. Heroes are mostly on pedestal and are never put under proper scrutiny. In SA football Dr Khoza has many hats hence as many critics per hat. On the other corner is Dr Jordaan who is seen as direct opposite and public favourite. He (Jordaan) is often approached with sympathy and as a messiah who can change the face of our game. Sadly COSAFA & CAF know something we do not. The man was there in 1992 when… Continue

Football lessons from Spain: South Africa must learn.

Never mind Barcelona’s humiliation in the hands of bayern munich in the champions league or the Spanish national team’s loss to hosts brazil in the final of the 2013 Fifa confederations cup. Spanish football has become a benchmark for success and a model for top class football development.…

Open letter to Orlando Pirates chairman Dr Irvin Khoza

Dear Irvin “Iron Duke” Khoza,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am not well. Tears came to my eyes as I read news of the imminent departure of the Orlando Pirates spine in the engine room Onyekachi "Tico" Okonkwo and also the promising goal poacher Takesure “Chisanyama” Chinyama.

I am not exactly certain whether I was crying for Okonkwo or Chinyama or for myself or for our beloved Orlando Pirates or for you in…

Being ineligible to play & not serving your suspension, are two diiferent things

Many of our fellow citizens are under the impression that the 'ineligible ethiopian player' cant be punished twice for one crime & as convinced as they are, they never once did considered this

When a player is suspended, two things happen, (1) They immediately become 'ineligible' to parcitipate in the next fixture. (2) They have to serve their suspension.

In the game against Botswana an ineligible player was fielded & thus 3pts should & will be…

STAR ON A JERSEY, IS IT FOR STELLAR PERFORMANCE OR THE STARRY-EYED?

Greetings lovers of the beautiful game.

Allow me to opine on the star that decorate the badge of my beloved Orlando Pirates FC (OPFC). Is it relevant for the Mighty Bucs to wear the star during the domestic PSL games?  I guess not. Pirates must not wear the star in the league as the star honours another competition. True, they qualified for CAF Champions League on being domestic champions but the suspensions, registration of players in CAF has nothing to do…
