The SUPPORTER:
This is a card carrying member of a team who pays a monetary subscription to the team they are affiliated with. They attend branch meetings and has direct links with the club through these branches. During games, they support the team regardless of how the team is playing and register their discontent through their branch. The SUPPORTER does not buy fake replica jerseys, the proudly wear genuine merchandise to show their support for the brand that is their team. They follow strict codes of support practice as alluded in the support handbook of their teams. A good example will be the supporters of Bloemfontein Celtic, who at any cost to them will support the team and will engage with the clubs management if they feel wronged.

The FAN
The power of the FAN can never be underestimated. They do not subsribe to their team of choice, they buy fake replica jerseys and will stay away from games when the team is losing. The FAN is very loud ussually spitting vile at the players when the player is not doing well on the field of play...The FAN is very disruptive and does not know the internal workings of the team but assumes to know. A good example is the Kaizer Chiefs fans, who are said to be in millions and will hurl insults at players when they are not playing well.
Which one are you? We all need to move from being a FAN to a SUPPORTER and help our teams grow to become powerhouses in Africa and ultimately the world...You look at teams such as Manchester United, Arsenal, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus, etc...They have a global footprint because of their supporters who have supported their teams through thick and thin....
Again, which one are you????
